2.0 Functions of the main dialog box of CoMa (overview)

After calling up the programme CoMa or the menu entry "CoMa" in
the first Pull-down-menu "Desk" you will see a GEM-window with
verious service elements.

Your name is already in the first line of every send fax after
licensing. If you have chosen an entry of the fax number
administration the aaddress and the fax number is already added.
But you can enter an address manually here as well. It will
appear in the text top page which you can send alone or with
other fax pages. Perhaps in the position which would be relevant
in the address field of a DIN A4 standard letter.
Below that is the field for the fax number belonging to the
address of the receiver.

Far below you find the advise how to interrupt a fax transmission
without delay. You have to press the Ctrl and shift key
simultaneously, or if it is not connected yet press "undo" or
"Esc"!

Via button "automatic receive" you can switch on or off the
automatic reception.

The command "no dialling" send the second dial command to the
modem and the fax transmission will proceed without the dialling
of a telephone no. This functions only if your partner on the
telephone line is in possession of a combi fax or has got a modem
connected to a fax.

You can switch to the lower resolution with the button 100 dpi.
The transmission is faster but the quality is not very good.
The right side of the working window contains a number of
selection buttons which branch to different functions or window
dialogues. The button "parameter" and the relevant dialogue boxes
for the basic set ups have been descriped in chapter 1 already.
You can leave the window (as all GEM-windows) by a click on the
closing button in the left top line.

Further functions in short overview. Firstly the function below
the address field which belong to the administration of incoming
and outgoing fax and the fax and telephone nos.

	Calls

This buttons calls the administration of the incoming fax pages,
telephoine calls and FTP connections.

	Jobs

A window with a list of fax jobs will be opened

	Number

The stored number/name list is revealed

	Ins

You can include the present entry of the main dialog box into
the number list.

	1...8

the 8 buttons below open a fax window each
The selection buttons right next to the address fiel operate
certain functions.

	Editor

The integrated text editor of CoMa is opened with the default
text and serves to edit short messages

	Info

The info dialog with registration form is opened

Load TXT, Load Fax, Load IMG

The three button open the file selection box in the operating
system. You can indicate one or several files here, they will be
loaded into a fax window.

	Record and Play

The two functions belong to the answering machine in CoMa and
start the recording and the replay. A voice modem has to be
connected for this function to work and the parameter in the
voice system (General, Voice and Messages) have to be
configurated accordingly.

	Send folder

Every time you want to send more than 8 pages at once you ahve to
copy all fax pages into a folder. If the button "send folder" is
activated the complette set will be transmitted.
Now we are going into "media res" and explain more clearly what
it is all about.

2.1 Selection button "Info"

You call up the dialogue box containing information and advice
about our company as well as the version number of CoMa with
this button.

If you click on the button "registration" you receive an entry
box for the registration of CoMa.

The registration key of CoMa has to be entered here to change the
shareware into a full functioning programme.

This dialogue box shows you the remaining free memory as well.
With the button "Deutsche Meldungen" you get the display of the
help text and error messages in German. The default setting is
english.

2.2 select buttons for 8 fax pages

Before we tell you about the verious formats you can send with
CoMa we will explain the meaning of the buttons 1 to 8 below the
address.

CoMa is able to display 8 fax pages in a GEM-window and show it
in a preview. All 8 pages are shown simultaneously. We have to
mention some principal based problems though:

	1. size of the monitor

You can only see the display in the 12 % zoom on a 14" monitor,
physically it fills the monitor out.

	2. space of memory

It is probably only possible to display 4 pages with a memory of
4MB. A 200 dpi DIN A4 page needs 600 kB memory. If the faxpages
are smaller than DIN A4 more pages can be displayed.

It doesn't matter if the first page you want to send is a 1st
Word document (or ASCII-text), the second an IMG-graphic and the third
page a fax file. You can mix all 8 pages.
Should it happen that you want to send more than 8 pages you have
to make a folder in which you copy all pages you
want to send (send folder). A preview is not possible here.
A dark grey selection button indicates the active window.

You can close a fax window with a click on the close button top
left, or via a click on the alternate key and the left mouse key
on the number head.

2.3 Pop-up-menu in the fax window

Part of the function for save, display etc are found in a pop-up
menu which can be called separately for every fax window. The
resolution of the page can be set separately for each window, and
the representation intensity chosen separately to other fax
windows. Follwoing manipulations to the window can be done with
this menu:

The area "Images" contains function available for the active fax
page.
The two following areas allow the fax page to use a graphic set
in parameter "Images" in default as head or foot logo.
You find the abbreviation of the keyboard behind every entry in
this pop-up-menu. The zoom factor of the active window will be
altered by the key +.
The command to open the file selection box to save the page
in IMG-format (save IMG) is operated by simultaneously pressing
the keys Control and M.

You can produce relatively minor compressed IMG-files into heavy
compressed Hufman coded fax files with the function "Save F??" A
600 kB IMG-file is changed relatively easy into a 200 kB fax
file.
Another operation possibility of this function exists. If you
want to send more than 8 pages the window offered by CoMa is not
sufficient. You have to create a folder in which all pages have
to be entered as fax file with the ending .FO1 to FXY. This
folder can contain up to 99 fax pages which can be sent together.
Additionally to this folder you can send the pages which are in
the eight fax windows.~
The function "Save F??" transforms a ASCII-file into a Hufman
coded fax pages as well.

	Turn

Sometimes you might receive a fax page topsy-turvey (page has
been inserted into the fax machine the wrong way). It is very
difficult to read such a document without printing it. The
function "Turn" in the pop-up-menu solves the problem, the
content of the page is turned by 180 degree.

	Zoom (+ or -)

If you work with a 14" monitor you can only see a small part of
a DIN A 4 page with a display in scale 1 monitor pixel = 1 fax
pixel. Too make it possible for you to see at least a page in
(nearly) full width we included a zoom function that reduces or
enlarges the fax. You activate this function with the key "+" or
"-" from the number block or via the pop-up-menu in the fax
window. You can reduce the active window in 4 steps. The sizes
100%, 50%, 25% and 12% are available. >You can set the desired
resolutioon as default in "parameter".

Owners of large monitors can read the whole page in the step 50%.

The step 12% only gives a rough overview, the text cannot be read
anymore.

2.4 Select button Editor

If you want to send a short message you do not have to call up a
different programme. You can enter the message via selection
button into the texteditor available for this. You can type a
text continuously just as in any other editor.
You will find the most important functions of the text editor in
the pop-up-menu of the editor window.
If you want to mix this page with a graphic logo you have to mark
an empty page with relevant wildcards to avoid the graphic being
written into your text. You set the offset to the top page edge
for every graphic in the pop-up-menu for the graphic logos. The
pop-up-menu belonging to the editor shows you the implemented
commands. It is important to set up a standard page containing
the necessary wildcards. Store this page as DEFAULT.TXT in the
folder SYSTEM. Every call of editor will load this page and you
can start with typing the message. If you type more than 65 lines
(approx a DIN A4 page) set the sign for a page break (FF) at the
beginning of a line. This divides the pages at this place in two
pages.

Some fax machines report a page error for long pages and
interrupt the transmission. You can use the sign for the page
break integrated in the text editor from the special character
box. Just press "Insert" next to the arrow keys on the keyboard
and chose the desired special character via mouse click.

Leave the editor with the key ENTER and the fax page will be
built up. Users with a Mac with a small keyboard do not have the
key ENTER, unfortunately. Use the Control key together with the
return key.

You can enhance the document with different text attributes and
wildcards. The editor uses the HTML abbreviations

<B> Bold in, <\B> Bold off
<U> underline in <\U> underline off
<I> italic in <\I> italic off
<H> light in <\H> light off

With zoom factor 100% and a 14" monitor you see only part of the
page. Switch to 25% or 12% Zoom (keys "+" or "-" of the number
block or pop-up-menu of the actual window) and the page is
displayed in overview. If you want to shift the screen layout you
can use for all GEM -windows the shift-register at the botton
right edge. Keep the left mousekey pressed down and a little
hand appears. As long as you keep the mousekey pressed down you
can move the picture in all directions. Easy. A mouse-speed-up is
integrated and you do not have to "re-grap" and you can move with
one movement over the whole page.

The function "Zoom" reduces the page. You can see on a monitor
with 640x400 pixel nearly the complete width of the page (approx
1/2 DIN A4 page in length). If you then set zoom factor "25%" in
the window parameter you have nearly the whole page in overview
on the monitor.
You can get the hidden main dialog box on top by pressing F10 and
start "send" after having checked the fax page.

2.4.1 Wildcards in editor

You can write a short letter with the function editor,an editor
integrated into CoMa. The texts can be saved and loaded. The
order of the addresse is firmly set. From version CoMa 2.50 you
have the possibility to design the top page yourself.
The programme can place certain information in the desired place.
Following wildcards are integrated into the programme

<name1> name from the number list
<name2> name 2 from the number list
<faxno> fax number from the number list
<D> Day (the actual date of the computer)
<M> month
<Y> Year
<h> hour (actual time of day of the computer)
<m> minute
<s> second
<Page> actual page number from the folder to be send
<Remark> text of this line from the edit box of the
active entry in the number list
<Salutation> text of this line in the editor box

The sequence of these wildcards is free. Have a look at the
included file DEFAULT.TXT.

2.5 Select buttons "Load IMG", "Load FAX" and "Load TXT"

The file selection box built into your operating system appears
if you click the button of this function, and you can enter the
name and the path of the requested file.
This fax page is displayed at once in a window on your monitor.
The first of the 8 buttons is marked grey if you have not opened
a window for fax pages yet. If you want to load a further page
without overwriting the first activate the second button. An
empty window is displayed that can be filled with a fax page.
This procedure is simplified if you install the file selection
"Selectric" or "Freedom". With this file select box you can mark
several files and load them simultaneously.

	IMG

Choose the pixel graphic with a double click and it will be
displayed on the screen and is ready to be faxed. The screen
layout compared to a fax file is up to 10 times faster. Fax files
are coded according to the Hufman process and have to be decoded
to be displayed.

You can copy the active IMG-page into the clipboard by clicking
simultaneously the keys Ctrl + C and release them with Ctrl + V.
You copy a graphic from a graphic programme into the active CoMa
window the same way. Very easy is the file selection with the
file selection box "Selectric" by Stefan Radermacher. You can
choose several files in one go with this software, CoMa loads the
fax pages into a GEM-window each.
Some customers wanted to load an incoming fax into a graphic
programme to be able to process it further. This can now be done
with "SAVE" and an incoming fax can be saved as pixel graphic in
IMG-format. You find this function in the pop-up-menu of the
actual fax window.

	Fax

Drivers exist already for a whole range of programmes which store
one or several pages of documents in QFax format (Hufman coding).
Normally these drivers are delivered together with a programme
when buying it. CoMa is able to send these files by fax. We did
not invent another fax format on purpose because we did not want
to increase the existing confusion on the market. You can load
and send QFax pages with CoMa (and vice versa, but we hope you
don't). This means you can use all drivers that use QFax format
to create a fax page. Because QFax is not further developed we
are pleased to offer programmers our help programmes for fax
drivers so that new software can be supplied with fax drivers.
These helps are found in the folder DEVELOP on the diskette. It
is much better though to develop a driver that creats IMG files.
These are loaded much faster.

	TXT

With this function you can load all files in ASCII format. CoMa
undertakes a graphic convertion at once and you see the text in a
fax window. CoMa works and displays extremely well with the text
attributes of the text procession FIRST WORD.
You will find in the window of the pop-up-menu the command "Save
F.0?" with which you can create a very compressed fax file from
IMG- and ASCII-files.

2.6 Select button "Send"

After having loaded one or more fax pages you have to click the
button send. The modem will lift and dial at once and start the
transmission after negotiating the transmission parameter. There
are no waiting times in CoMa for coding fax pages for
transmission, all this takes places unnoticed withouot time delay
during transmission. The comment line displays the Baud-rate and
the resolution during transmission. The identification of the
receiver is also displayed.

At the end of the transmission you can check here for mistakes.
The error messages are in clear text and are selfexplanatory.
You can set the messages in english or german in the window
"INFO". CoMa has no influence about the quantity or quality of
the error messages. It only passes on the message from the modem.
Unfortunately there are a number of modems that do not give
reports at all.

2.7 "Send folder"

Sometimes it is necessary to send more than 8 fax pages in one
go. The pages have to be in a fax folder for this to function.

This select button contains 2 parts, the button to activate this
function and to the right of this the button to open a file-
selection-box to chose a folder for faxing. The large selection
button shows the name of the folder which was used last to send a
complete fax folder.

The numbering of the pages has to be continuous, i.e. FAX.F01, SAMPLE.F02,
TEST.F03 etc. If you frequently have to send the same fax
pages it makes sense to create the relevant folders. For sending
the folder you click the button with the path indication. The
file selction box appears to open the requested folder and you
leave the file selection box with "OK". The name of the chosen
folder will be displayed in the select button now. If the name is
very long you can only read the end of the path name.

To make sure that the folder is send after clicking the send
button you have to activate the button "Send folder" as well.

When you send a folder you always have the possibility to send a
top page as well. Click function "Editor" before calling up
"Send". Enter the requested text and leave the editor with the
"Enter" key. The top page will be displayed in a window at once.
The main dialogue box is in the background during that time,
perhaps not visible and F10 will bring it back to the forefront.
Now click on "Send" and the top page first and then the contents
of the folder will be send. If you not want to send the top page
just close the window with the text before sending.

2.8 select button "Receive"

You can receive a fax manually by clicking this button.
To receive automatically during absences the computer has to be
switched via an electronic device at the first ring of the
telephone. A 24 hour stand-by operation is neither economically
nor ecologically justifiable, not to mention the wear and tear.

Unfortunately, the start up time of the ATARI sometimes takes
longer than the calling fax machine is willing to wait. You
therefore have to switch off all unnecessary programmes in the
AUTO-folder as well as all unnecessary accessories. This is very
easily done if you are in possession of a boot organisation
programme like XBoot for example. As switch-on we recommend our
WAKE_UP which is perfectly adjusted to CoMa and enables a safe
swich-on of the computer.
If your are in possession of a fax-modem only you should have a
separate telephone line and number in order to avoid annoying
every telephone caller with the noise of the fax.

Working with one telephone line will only be sensible if you are in
possession of a modem with voice function and CoMa voice.

These modems can be used as answering machines and can
differentiate between telephone call or fax.

If you press the control key additionally when clicking the
receive button a data-connect only will be tried, not a fax-
connect! This is necessary if a caller uses a modem for a data-
connect and does not send a data-calling tone.

2.9 Tips for manual receive

The manual receive of a fax page can be achieved simply when a telephone has
been looped through a modem (or a modem with BZT permit ist connected to a
TAE socket, this is only for german user!).If you hear the typical sound of a
fax transmission after lifting the telephone call up the ACC CoMa and press
the button "Receive".
Deactivate the button "automatic receive" in the main dialogue
box for manual receive and CoMa allows the modem to lift off
automatically and a caller will be "peeped". If you are unlucky
he cuts you off before you can take over the call with Esc, undo
or ctrl + right shift key.
Another advice: Some fax machines and modems do not send a sound
as long as they do not hear anything themselves. In such a case
it appears as if nobody is on the line. Press the button
"receive" all the same and let CoMa negotiate the parameter.
Now CoMa will let the modem lift up, take over the telephone
line, receive the pages and store them (and eventually print them
out at once as well).
The incoming lines are built up on the screen one by one as they
come in. You can see immediately the incoming message. The monitor
scrolls with the incoming fax lines, naturally. After having
stored the fax you have already read it and do not have to call
another programme.
The incoming pages will be printed immediately if the button
"Print Immed." is activated in the parameter setting.

2.10 Tips for automatic receive with CoMa

If you have got the necessary hardware to accept a call
automatically we would like to give you some tips for stable
operating.

To keep the time for start up of the computer short you have to
make sure that all accessories and programmes in the AUTO folder
are switched off. Very helpful here is a programme like XBoot
and others. These configurate ACCs and AUTO-folders according to
need.
Make sure that CoMa as ACC is activated. The ring-indicator line in the cable
between modem and computer has to be connected. The serial cable will be lead
via the small appliance if you use our WAKE_UP as switch-on. The computer
will stay switched on as long as data flows from modem to computer or vice
versa. This ensures that the computer does not switch off even during
overlong fax transmission.

The button "without RI-wire" has to be activated definitely for automatic
receive in Apple computers because there is no ring indicator cable available
for this function. You can build a cable yourself which receives the signal
RI on Pin 7 of Macs own mini-din 8 plug (GPI, general purpose input). CoMa
functions then as on the ATARI.
But mention:
The terminal programme Connect uses Pin 7 as DCD (data carrier detect) for
the unit count. This function does not work any more should you use this
programme and a selfmade cable as well.

2.11 the key "number" (fax number administration)

CoMa has got a file in which fax and telephone numbers can be
stored.

This file is a text file and compatible to the fax number file of
QFax. Should you already be in possession of FAXNUM.INF you can
use this here straight away. You will see two buttons in the GEM
window of CoMa for this application.

	Numbers (fax number list)

Click this button once or press key F9 and you receive a window
containing all fax numbers entered and sorted alphabetically.
With a double click on an entry you take over the name and number
and can start the fax.

Should you have made a mistake press Escape and you return to the
beginning of the list. You can start the search again.

	Insert

You need this button if you want to include a new fax number into
the list. Enter the name and the fax number in the relevant
fields. Take care that the entries are sorted according to the
surname.

Surname Followed by < Christian Name (The < is paramount)

Click the button "Ins" and the data is entered in the fax list.
If you call up the name for a fax CoMa will turn the names around
again. We have decided against automatic transfer of new fax
numbers on purpose to avoid double entries in the list. This
happens easily if you for instance want to use a familiar number
by yourself and not via the list.

Following functions are available in the number window of the
pop-up-menu:

	Main box

opens the main dialog box again

	Show all

saves a group selection and shows all entries again

	Filter

opens the displayed dialogue box in which the number list can be
filtered through selection of groups

	Set group

opens the displayed dialogue box and one or several marked
entries in the number list can be assigned to one or several
groups

	Clear groups

the group assignment of the marked entries can be readjusted with
this function

	Edit

You can add a remark to each entry with the help of this
function. Further entry possibilities exist in CoMa professional

	Find, find same

It is possible to search for parts of entries in the number list.
This is very practical if one remembers only part of a name.
You can search for name1, name2, fax number or an entry in the
remark line

	Serial jobs

The marked entries as addressees for serial letter functions can
be chosen with this function. All fax number receive the pages
loaded in the fax windows, i.e. the complete fax folder if the
button "send folder" has been activated. First load the fax pages
you want to send before you call this function! CoMa creates a
job-folder for each receiver according to the procedure of the
fax jobs.

	Select all

you can mark all entries of the number list in one go. Only
entries left in the fax windows will be marked if you have called
up a group filter before previously. You can activate a selection
of fax numbers with one mouseclick.

	Font

This function calls a font selector in order to individualise the
number list. You can use proportional fonts here as well, but
this reduces the readability of this list normally.

	Load

A fax number file in ASCII format can be imported with this
function. The necessary data have to be divided by a vertical
line (the key under the delete key) and stand in following order:
Name1 ] fax number ] name2 ] remarks ] password ]
download path\ ] salutation ] number

The number determins the group associationand is calculated as
follows: Group A = 1; group B = 2; group C = 4; group D = 8;
group F = 16; a.s.o. Entry in group A and B have number 3, for
group b and D it would be 10 in the import file.

	Delete

Should you need to delete entries in the list you do not have to
use a text editor (!) but you can do this from CoMa.

Call up the fax number list with F9 and mark the entry to be
deleted with a simple click of the left mouse key. Press the key
ctrl and y simultaneously afterwards and the entry is deleted.
You can call up the command delete alternatively via the pop-up-
menu belonging to the number list.

2.12 Fax jobs (serial fax and time delayed fax)

Electronic mail has got advantages over post mail. Unfortunately
this advantage is used by Telecom to make more profit through
high telephone costs. Therefore it is interesting to send fax at
"moonshine tarrif". But who wants to sit at the computer or in
the office all night long! But the computer can work this
all by himself. The function "serial fax" has been designed for
this and it makes time delayed faxing possible. But first some
general advice about this function.

Only 3 fax jobs can be defined with the standard version of CoMa.
It does not matter if you want to send the same document to all
recipients or a different one each time. Only CoMa professional
has no limitations at all about the number of jobs.

CoMa creates a job folder for each addressee in which all pages
and the file SENDINFO.TXT is contained.

	1. Serial jobs

Firstly load the page(s) to be send. Select the recipients in the
number administration with a click afterwards. It is easier to
select the requested recipients of a message by using the group
function. First you filter for a group and then call up the
function "select all".
Now select in the pop-up-menu the function "serial job". You can
enter time and date at which the serial fax shall be executed.

You have the possibility to choose via mouse click as sending
time the next day 2 am, the cheapest time to send a fax. You can
edit sending resolutions and chosen repeats as well.

The line remark is for entering a remark which can than be read
in window of the fax job. You increase the overview of the job
list in this way.

Should a number of the connections be engaged CoMa will put it to
the end of the list and call again after working through the
remaining numbers.

The comment line in the main dialog box will show the number of
fax jobs to be sent when the job function is switched on.

	2. fax jobs

Very often one faces the problem to send various people different
time delayed fax. Before you had to operate each fax job
individually which meant you had to wait till the end of each
transmission and sit by the computer. Customers wanting to use
CoMa for business purposes had to stay in the office and use the
computer after 18,00 h.

Not a very positive solution, that is why we have increased CoMa
with an easy to operate job administration. It does not matter
which kind of net it is, Midi for ATARI or Appletalk for the Mac,
CoMa is installed on the server and the fax job is overplayed
into the relevant folder. CoMa checks under "faxparameter"
the entered time in the field "scan jobs all xx seconds" all
folders and sends the fax when they are due.

	Creating a faxjob

Creating a fax job starts with the selection of fax page(s). Then
you choose the number of the recipient from the fax number
administration. Now activate the window in which the fax page can
be seen and call the pop-up-menu "Image". Here you click on the
entry "Make Job".

A dialogue box appears in which you can enter the time and the
date for processing the job.
Should there be no number for the addresse in the number list you
can enter it here manually. To avoid having to choose the cheap
time (from 2 am) we have created a button for it. You can also
set the resolution with which to send and the chosen repeats.

Leave the dialog box with "OK" and CoMa saves the fax page(s) of
this job in a separate folder with the name of the addressee. The
name might be limited to 8 letter in operating systems with
limited length for file names (8 characters in ATARI). CoMa adds
a text file to the name as well which carries all important data
for this job. This text file has to carry the name SENDINFO.TXT
otherwise CoMa can not evaluate it.

Here is an example how the file might look:

name: Miller<Peter
number:030/622 68 84
Date:04.07.96
Clock:09.23
Repeat:10
DPI:200

As you can see in the structure of the ASCII-text it is possible
to create this file with a text editor. In this case you have to
create a folder with the name Miller in the OUTGOING-folder of
CoMa. The fax page and the little information who, where, when
and how often belongs in there. If you leave out REPEAT CoMa will
use the set number of repeats entered in the fax parameter. Leave
out date and time and CoMa starts at once with the transmission.
This means for the network operation that your SENDINFO.TXT for a
fax job operated immediately only two lines have to exist.

The fax pages have to receive as extension .F01, F02 etc. The name of the
file does not matter, but for a better overview it is recommended that the
origin is made recognisable. If CoMa creates the fax job the fax page will
always get the name COMA-
JOB.F01 etc.

The computer has to be switched on at the indicated time for CoMa
to be able to process the jobs and the button "jobs" in the main
dialog box of CoMa has to be active. CoMa will only check the
folder OUTGOING for jobs to be done if the job function is
switched on.
CoMa will indicate the number of jobs still to be executed in
the remark line when the job function is switched on.

2.13 Job administration

The main dialogue box has got a button for the list of received
calls and a button for the list of jobs. This window opens
if you use the key combination shift+F9.
All jobs which can still be found in the folder OUTGOING by CoMa
are entered here. All important data for the jobs can be seen with
one look. You can see at once which fax jobs still have to be
done and which are sent already.

The significance of the columns are found above the entries.
If you want to check that the job has got the correct document
you can have the page(s) displayed by double click on the entry.

The first number shows how many times CoMa tried to send already.
The second number shows the set repeats. Jobs successfully
completed carry instead of numbers the entry "ready". CoMa will
also re-name the folder after successful completion of a job if
the TOS is not older than 1.4. The extension RDY will be added to
the name of the folder. With every dial try the folder receives a
file with O bytes and an extension .CNT, this operates to count
the dial tries. The success has to be documented differently
because the folder can not be re-named in old TOS versions.
CoMa enters after successful send 9999 under TOS < 1.4.
This is only meant for background information because successful
transmissions are in any case entered in the joblist (shift+F9)
for the user and can be identified easily by the entry "Ready".

2.14 The pop-up-menu "jobs"

After the jobs are completed they are entered in the window
"jobs" with the status "ready". The folders are still in the
OUTGOING folder but they are carrying the extension RDY (if TOS
not older than 1.4)

The job window has got a pop-up-menu with several commands
in order to ease the deletion of unecessary job-folders.

The first entry opens the already known dialogue box to make
possible alterations to the send parameter. The time can be
changed here and a remark line corrected or the transmission
resolution can be increased or reduced.

With the command "select RDY" you can activate all entries with
the status "Ready" in one go. The command "Delete" will than
delete all marked entries in the list and the relevant folders in
the OUTGOING folder after a safety check.

You can also use the key combination Ctrl + Delete for this.

The command "Reset" resets the counter for the unsuccessful dial
tries.
The marked entries can be switched on or off for send via
commands

	"Enable" and "Disable"

CoMa sets sending time to the year 2037
if an entry is switched off. CoMa will set the actual date and
time again if you free the entry for fax sending again. You have
to reset the sending time with the command "Edit Entry" if the
transmission should take place later.

You can change the writing in the window with the command "Font"
by calling up a fontselector.

2.15 The calls button, the administration of fax

If you receive fax automatically with CoMa they will be stored
with the individual ID as file name in the folder INCOMING.

CoMa administrates all incoming fax in a separate window which
you can open with the button "Calls". This button will flash if
fax or calls have been received that have not been seen since
last opening the window. Fax that have been called for reading
already receive a tick in front of the entry.

The answering machine of CoMa Voice or CoMa Professional shows
the name of the caller as well if you are in possession of an
ISDN and the sender telephone number is listed in the number
administration. An ISDN modem is necessary as well of course.

The pop-up-menu for this window offers a number of commands

	Main box

calls up the main dialogue box

	Edit entry

calls the dialogue box to add a remark to the active entry

	Find, Find Same

calls the search routine

	Print Fax

prints the chosen fax

	Toggle Flag

Put the tick before an entry. This marks the already read fax
pages.

	Play New

This function works only with CoMa Voice and CoMa professional.
All new calls are played consecutively.

	Select All

You can mark all entries for delete at one go with this function.

	Font

Opens the fontselector to give the list an individual look.

	Delete

Entries which are read and/or printed and are not needed any more
can be easily deleted. Please remember that not only the advice
in the window is deleted but also the fax file on the hard disk.

Put your mouse pointer on the opened window "Calls" and click the
right mouse key. You will see the pop-up-menu "Calls with several
entries. If the entry "Delete" is called all lines marked by a
mouseclick will be deleted. But be careful, the delete refers to
the file itself.

2.16 The button "Dial only"

This function is self explanatory. You can use the modem as a
dial automat. Enter the desired telephone number and press the
button "Dial only" and your modem starts to dial. This functions
best if your telephone is looped through the modem. Once the
other side answers you can force the modem to cut out by pressing
the keys "Undo", "Esc" or "Ctrl+left shift key". The call is now
on the connected telephone and you can start to speak.

2.17 Polling

This is a function that works only with modems faxstandard class 2.0. The
operating modus is defined only here.

You have the possibility to poll fax pages from radio stations,
public services and companies etc. It is possible to receive
weather forecasts and the actual weather chart, certain radio
station pass on the "Top 20" etc. A lot of firms will stop
sending advertisement fax and switch to special telephone numbers
for interested customers to call up lists etc. Companies save
telephone costs and thepoor dealer saves miles of fax paper.

If your modem is not a class 2.0 appliance but has got its own
command for this modus you have to enter the dial command for
polling in the fax parameter.

CoMa makes the opposite way possible for you as well. You can
provide one or more fax pages in a folder for polling. The path
for your own "faxmailbox" is created in the field "Send Poll" of
the same dialogue box.

2.18 Select buttons "Record", "Play" and "Take off"

These functions belong to the answering machine CoMa voice. An
incoming call will be automatically differtiated from a fax and
the digital answering machine will switch on. Different answering
texts for different time tracks are available to you.

This function is available only as extra against additional costs
and supports nearly all types of modem with a voice function,
i.e. the Zyxel modem in various building forms and modems with
Rockwell Chipset (i.e. Creatix LC144VF, LC288VF, ELSA TQV288 and many
modems of similar build). You find an up to date list in the file
VOICE.TXT. The demo contained in the normal CoMa version limits
the recordtime to 7 seconds. But you can use and test all
functions. Chapter 3 explains the handling of the answering
machine in great detail.
